You can't manage what you don't measure. A lipid panel (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides) is the only way to know if your efforts are working.

Target values to aim for:

  • LDL < 2.6 mmol/L
  • HDL > 1.0 mmol/L (men) / > 1.2 mmol/L (women)
  • Triglycerides < 1.7 mmol/L

Schedule a test every 3–6 months when actively working on improving your cholesterol. Most GP offices can do this with a simple fasting blood draw.

💡 Tip: Fast for 10–12 hours before the test for accurate triglyceride readings.
