One Real Conversation Today

Favorite habit - MyHabits.info

Not a text. Not a group chat. One actual conversation with another person — where you are genuinely present.

What qualifies:

  • A phone or video call where you're not multitasking
  • A face-to-face conversation without phones on the table
  • Asking someone how they're actually doing — and listening to the answer

What doesn't qualify:

  • Texting back and forth
  • Small talk while doing something else

Felt connection — not mere proximity — is what triggers the oxytocin response that buffers cortisol. Your nervous system needs to register that you are seen by another person.

💡 If you live alone or socialising feels hard: a call with a close friend, a meaningful exchange with a colleague, or time with a pet all activate co-regulation pathways.
